For the Dough :
2 cups Maida ( All purpose flour)
1 cup Ghee or Oil
1 tsp Salt
Warm Milk or water to knead the dough
Oil to deep fry.

Mix well Maida, Ghee/Oil and salt such that the maida blends with the oil.
Now add Milk/Water to knead the dough. The dough should not be too soft nor too hard. Cover with a wet cloth n keep aside.

For the Filling:

2 cups Dry Coconut Powder or grated
2 tbsp Poppy seeds
8-10 Raisins
1 tsp Cardamom Powder
1 tbsp Sliced/Chopped Dry Fruit (Almonds/Cashews/Walnuts) - Optional
1 tsp Ghee/Butter

Method:
1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add the above filling ingredients,toss well on low flame for 5 mins. Turn off the flame and let it cool.

2. Make big balls of the dough. Roll it as thin as possible. Make circles using cookie cutter.Now add the filling with a spoon. Apply water to the corners. Join them in a half moon shape, press the corners with a fork. Make sure it is closed properly. Fry them on low flame till it is light brown.
