Pastry Puffs

These yummy sheets are layers of dough and butter. It is the butter in between the layers of dough which creates air and makes them light and crisp. The possibilties are endless to use this delicate dough. Be it Sweet or Savory! My recipe is one of them. They are so filling but you will want to have more :) For me it is one of the very easy Appetizers which my guests will sure enjoy!

Ingredients:

6 Pastry Puff Sheets(thawed)
4-5 Potatoes Boiled, Peeled and Mashed
1 Small Onion finely Chopped
2 Tsp Fresh Corriander Leaves
Juice of Half a Lemon
1 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste

For Tempering  :
1 Tsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
1 Tsp Mustard Seed
1 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
A pinch of Asafoetida

Spices :
1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 Tsp Amchoor/Dry Mango Powder(or Chat Masala Powder)
1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder

Method:

1. Heat Oil in a non stick pan. Temper with the ingredients under "Tempering".Saute for a few seconds.
2. Add Onions and turn off the flame.
3. Add boiled Potatoes,Corriander Leaves, Lemon Juice, Salt and all the Spices. Mix well and cool completely.

Assemble :

1. Preheat the oven at 350 deg. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cut the pastry sheet in half. Fill the Filling(around 2 tbsp each) and seal the edges using a fork.
3. Place them on the sheet a inch apart.
4. Bake them for around 20-35 mins until golden brown.
3. Enjoy!!

Notes:

1. Don't cook the onions!
2. You can seal the edges with a paste of 1:1 ratio of Maida/All Pupose Flour and Water.
3. You can also brush melted butter on the top of the puffs for a good golden brown color and more crisp.
