Sindhi Pulav


Ingredients:

2 Cups Basmati rice
3 1/2 Cups Water
2 Onions sliced
1 Cup Methi/Fenugreek leaves chopped(optional)
1 1/2 tsp Jeera/Cumin seeds
1 Tbsp Red Chilli powder
3 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
     
Method:
    
1. Wash and soak the Rice in water for 10 mins.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Cook the Onions till golden brown in color.
3. Now add chopped Methi Leaves, Red Chilli Powder, Jeera, Rice, Salt to taste and mix well. Fry on low flame for a few mins.
4. Then increase the flame add water.
5. Once the water is absorbed lower the flame, put the lid and simmer it for 10-15 mins.
6. Serve hot with Fried Potatoes or Sindhi Style Channa Dal or Papad!!


Notes:

1. You might need more or less water depending on the Rice you are using.
2. The brown color of the Onions is a very important step.
3. You can lower the quantity of Red chilli powder as per your taste.
